Welcome to the web site for the Climate Resilience Research Center (CRRC) in the Municipality of San Isidro (Bungto han San Isidro) on the beautiful island of Samar in the Philippines.
CRRC is a joint project of Climate Survival Solutions and Local Government Unit San Isidro for climate resilience R&D. The partnership was formalized by a MOU signed in September 2024.
The primary focus of this facility will be on sustainable food production utilizing smart agriculture systems and nutrient and water recycling. We will grow nutrient dense fruits, vegetables, legumes and grains suitable for preservation.
The 1 hectare CRRC will feature a lab for water and soil analysis, study of microbes, insects and plants and the instrumentation hub. Outside the lab will be raised bed garden plots, ponds and aquaponics systems. Construction will commence by December 2024.
Information developed by the CRRC will be shared freely on this web site and directly with interested farmers in Samar.
The CRRC is part of the larger Samar 2050 Sustainable Development & Climate Resilience project as presented at the UN’s 2024 Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction.
